Indonesia’s Kambira Tarra, Sangalla district, about 20 km from Rantepao, has a high unique way of dealing with the grief that accompanies the death of young one aged infant to seven years old.

First, a hollow is created in the trunk of a large tree.  The body of the child is placed inside along with coconut fibers and then the hollow is boarded up.  Over the decades, the tree will absorb the body into its trunk and be merged with it.  This is appealing to the Tana Toraja people still regard the place as sacred as the newborn child was.
