THE WORLD'S MOST DANGEROUS AIRPORT

Welcome to Kai Tak Airport which was, for a while, the main airport of Hong Kong.  This airport was well known for its runway that jutted out into the sea, a vector that forced large airplanes to descend through nearby skyscrapers, and a manual maneuver called the 'Hong Kong turn' that forced all incoming flights to make a quick turn to line up to the runway, it was known as the world's most dangerous airport.  After 12 air disasters that claimed 270 lives, Kai Tak was finally closed for good in 1998.
