Star Trek: “The Omega Glory”

It seems only far that when “Return to Tomorrow” was rehashed, so was “Patterns of Force” only rehashed is a bad word… rehacked is more accurate as a bad idea is only made worse.

Again the idea is potentially interesting but quickly desintigrates like a doomed Exeter crewman into complete crap. First of all, why is Tracey so trecherous? What is his motive? There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to his actions!

The parallel Earth idea I can almost swallow, but when it comes to another planet coming up with another American flag, it’s a bitter pill. Hell, it’s a suppository!

This episode is a horrible mess. If not for some great lines, it would be the first Star Trek episode to receive a turd rating.

Interesting Fact: An announcement by NBC that Star Trek has been renewed for a third season by the network was transmitted over the end credits of this episode.

“Look at these three words written larger than all the rest, and with special pride never written before or since — tall words, proudly saying “We the people” .. these words and the words that follow … must apply to everyone or they mean nothing.”
– Kirk
